Tree of Destiny (New Poem)

A rooted giant within our land
Observing closely, leaves in hand
Let your windswept sonnet flow
Dancing arms swooping low
Immortal strength for centuries
Outlived generations a timeless breeze
Shielding from the sun so hot
Shedding skin, autumnal rot
Childhood playground, unexplored world
Dancing shadows, branch uncurled
Yet strength lies in thy roots below
The myriad of directions, endless flow
Now they say, “Chop you down!”
Make way for a brand new town
Fear not fauna friend, for they shall see
You are the tree of destiny
