Remember When (New Poem)

Remember when you kicked me as a child?
Remember when you said my heart was not hot but mild
Remember when you pinned my wings and said I would never fly
Remember when you would kick me if I even asked “why?”
Remember when you set my dreams on fire and raped me as a child
Remember the innocence you took when I grew from meek to mild
Remember the scolding water you fed me from the tap
Remember telling to me find my way when you removed my map
Remember when you locked me up and threw away the key
Remember when your own dull life removed my destiny
Remember when you kicked me out and said I would not amount to much
Remember when your own cold heart said pure love I would not touch
Remember when I looked you in the eye and said I would be back
Remember when the timid turned into attack
Remember when I soared high into the sun
Remember when the Phoenix became a fiery gun
Remember when I pierced your very soul akin to seek control
Remember when your armour was finally pierced and I wreaked havoc in your soul
Remember the little boy that you held in the dark for so long
Remember these words as I reap my rewards this is your captive song
