Just a note. You CAN replace a laptop HD so if you get your’s back you can either swap the hard drives over, OR you can get an external caddy that will let you attach your old HD as if it were an external drive. Either solution would at least get your work back (not sure what the company are looking to charge you for the original drive)
Anyway, just a heads-up you can Google the necessary if you like.
