Eyes that once collided

Eyes collided across a cold room
A glaze caught with a stare
Silence fell upon us
Emotions unaware

Amongst the plastic many
Beauty shone right through
A glance that hooked my heart
The bait I bit was you

Time flew by so quickly
Our hands entwined as one
The winter days were dark
Yet we shone brighter than the sun

A feeling unfamiliar
Emotions inside were born
Gazing into my reflection
Who I knew was torn

You took me away from the madness
A cocoon against the grind
For a time I had nothing but you to feel
A jewel so hard to find

Yet then we returned to routine
Our eyes fell apart
Just a shadow of a memory
Where we played our part

The years have moved on quickly
Yet a sudden flashback to you
The only one who owned my gaze
I still dream of you
