Blinded By The Truth

Our love was like a blossom
That erupted into bloom
Opened into the sunlight
A beacon in the gloom

Your hand rescued me from slipping
Caught me in your stare
A glare so illuminating
The world moulded me there

You led me into comfort
Closed my eyes to whats around
Guided by your touch
Footprints on the ground

Then the waves washed over me
Crashed to pull me down
The queen of comfort vanished
Whirlpool took my crown

My memories are upside down
I’m blinded by the truth
An adult scared of what I loved
Returned to childhood youth

I climb back into the darkness
Afraid to look into the sun
A shadow scarred by fear
Two just became one

Slipping again on these rocks
Where is the hand to catch me again?
All I knew is shattered
A heart now free from pain
