Autumn – The perfect season

They call autumn the season of change.

Evident in the change of colours between a blanket of green and the dynamic fiery orange and red that now adorn the ground. There is something magical about autumn for me; it’s always been the most eventful of seasons.

Some people believe that their lives take on a pattern during the seasons. For some, it is spring and summer that create the stability and harmony in their lives, but it has always been autumn for me. The warmly glow of indoors, the light breeze that blows against us, or maybe it is the fact that my birthday falls within the autumn/winter cusp, but it has always been a magical time.

The past few months have been a time to reflect, ponder and assess where I am in life. As you reach the final year of your thirties it’s time to take stock and think about what you have in life and indeed what you want. Many changes have happened the past five years, and it’s been a welcome relief to sit back and just think about all the virtuous and unpleasant things that have happened.

Time can heal all wounds; it can also pass us in the blink of an eye. Thinking about the friends I have found, the friends I have lost and particularly those who sadly have passed away I realise that life has actually been lucky for me since the dark winter that was 2006.

The present is something we live in, the future is something that we always aspire to dictate but recently life has taught me that you just need to ride the wave that you are on and see where it takes you. Seasons will come, seasons will pass, but the most powerful thing in life is that you move forward with positivity and aspirations inside of you or your dreams will never become a reality.

As the autumn approaches and winter awaits there is something in the air that feels right, something in the air that feels positive. This for me will not be a dark winter, but one of light, hope and peace.
