Why the death of a friend is never the end.

This weekend will be one of mixed emotions for me. Firstly it is the anniversary of the sad passing of one of my closest friends; the second will be the first visit to South Sweden.

Whilst many mourn death on the anniversary of the loss of a loved one, I tend to celebrate. Of course, I am full of sadness and regret inside, but I would rather spend this Sunday remembering and celebrating the life of a rather special woman. A person so warm, kind and humble that I doubt I will ever find a friend again my life. She is simply irreplaceable.

Death does not necessarily mean the end of a friendship. It can be the start of a new chapter. Though the physical friendship is over, their memory will forge strength inside that makes us stronger when facing new challenges in life. Only a select few people in life will be remembered as time goes on, we are all grains of sand drifting in the wind, yet the memory of a life taken too soon will survive for eternity if the love for that person is never forgotten.

If we have lost a friend, then celebrate your life in memory of theirs. That way the friendship can never be broken.
