Memories Of Sunlight

Memories Of Sunlight

Life revolves around in circles
In every way
As the earth circumnavigates the sun
We experience the warmth each day

Our eyes they grow their lifelines
To the corner of the sky
“Stand up straight young soldier!”
Though your life is passing by

Scream out in the darkness
Hear the echo in the wind
Shattered silence of each time
We have loved, and we have sinned

Scars are the wounds we carry
That are numbed with each year
Cuts that heal so quickly
Stung by salted tear

Let life flow with the river
The destination will be bright
As sure as the dawn arrives
To remove the darkness of the night

Shadows need light to grow
Just as flowers need the sun
Don’t worry about what has been
The best is yet to come
