Lifelines (Poem)

Tomorrow brings a new day
Erode away the past
A step into the future
Yet memories will last
As my face grows lifelines
The absence will remain
Of those that I see no more
Through grown up window pane
They would not recognise me
The child is now a man
Yet distant sparks of youth ignite
The flames of our clan
Flesh turns to ashes
Cast into the air
Whatever life brings my way
I walk without a care
The paths we walked together
Maybe now are gone
Yet in spirit we are side by side
Forever we live on
