Forever Green (Poem)

In the distant woods where legends dwelt.

A tale unfurls of friends, forever felt.

Two boys from past, in youthful flight,

Wooden swords, home made bows so tight

In eighties’ past, on a TV screen,

“Robin of Sherwood,” a mythical scene,

In emerald forests, destinies found,

Robin and Nasir, heroes renowned.

With arrows swift and blades held high,

They battled injustice towards the sky.

From Sherwood’s heart to the castle of unknown,

Their courage blazed with unturned stone.

Robin, a leader, bold and just,

Challenging the Sheriff, honour robust,

With noble spirit and cunning charm,

He rallied the outlaws, shielding from harm.

Nasir, a warrior, silent and strong,

His sword danced deftly, righting each wrong,

From distant lands, he joined the fight,

In Sherwood’s depths, a beacon of light.

As years rolled by, their paths diverged.

Yet their bond endured as memories surged.

Robin grew weary, burdened with years,

While Nasir journeyed, dispelling his fears.

In dreams and whispers,

Their spirits entwined,

A familiar presence,

Gentle and kind,

Childhood friends, forever close,

Their souls reunited, love’s grandiose.

But fate, unkind, played its wicked part,

One departed, sadly leaving like an arrow’s dart

Yet the other pressed on, braving the strife,

Listening for echoes of a loved former life.

In twilight realm, they found their reprieve.

In souls unseen, where hearts interweave,

Once two young boys, now one is old,

United once more, as their stories unfold.

In Sherwood’s embrace, legends reside,

The two dear friends stood side by side.

Their laughter echoes through the trees,

Healing wounds, as the spirit frees.

For friendship, true, beyond life’s domain,

Transcends all barriers, never leaving a stain,

In eternal grace, their souls entwined,

Robin and Nasir, forever aligned.

So let us toast to their timeless grace,

In hallowed stories, their spirits embrace,

For when stories of youth are told in true

The memories of Sherwood forever new
