Breaking the Connection (Poem)

Strangers glide past each other
Without a fleeting glance
Distracted by everyday life
Too afraid to dance

Wrapped around connectivity
Eyes hypnotised in blinding light
Glued to a window of the world
That are afraid to close at night

I gaze into the water
I see no reflection
Just a shimmering glance of reality
A life with no connection

We’re just the same people
Some got lost along the way
Others chose to chase their dreams
There was no other way

So now I switch to a new world
One where were disconnected
For technology has tied us up
In a world that’s so affected

The sky is blue
Sun it blazes bright
The only brightness that I need
Is life’s full shining light
