Sad to read that Rik Mayall has passed away aged 56. Inspired a generation of comedy with his energetic comedic performances. From Rik in the Young Ones, Richard Richard in Bottom, Lord Flashheart in BlackAdder to Alan B’Stard in The New Statesmen.
Partnered with Adrian Edmonson they were iconic figures in British Comedy. Without doubt one of the finest comedy duos ever.
Never quite was himself after his horrific quad bike accident in the late 1990’s but still returned to make us all laugh.
RIP to a personal hero of mine.
