Under skies of grey and blue, this is where I stand,
Half a century has passed me by, gone like grains of sand.
Dreams like leaves have simply slipped away,
All we are is dust, as the famous song does play.
Seasons change, years they fade from warm to cold,
Stories of my life I reminisce, quietly told.
Youth’s loud echoes as adults they softly fade,
In the days we walk alone, our memories are laid.
With every year that passes by, joy and pain I’ve found,
Life’s storms I sail amongst, and calms are both abound.
Yet here I sit thinking back, feeling small and grand,
A life that is flashing by, just like a grain of sand.
The stars in the sky shine, once bright and bold,
Time’s tide has taken over, now I’m growing old.
Yet love remains in places, through all the joy and pain,
A light that outlasts the darkness, shining once again.
Life’s many challenges once taken on with care,
I now see timeless beauty in moments we share.
A lesson learned, through the thin and thick,
Life’s days now more precious than a fleeting trick.
As this night draws near, the stars they will align,
I find peace and freedom within this heart of mine.
We’re all just travelers, through life in the end,
So let’s make more memories, let it begin, dear friend.
