No more waiting game (Poem)

No more waiting game (Poem)

The echoes of your silence

Rebound within my head

Another message sent to you

Rejected and unread

Those plans I had for summer

Spontaneous and true

Eroded by the hands of time

Now the nights are blue

I said I’d wait forever

You just needed more time

Maybe I was blind in love

My self-inflicted crime

The nights are getting shorter

Darkness overhead

Is this just a wicked game?

Of promised words, we said

You’ll expect a message

Saying that I care

Yet perhaps I just had enough

For you were never there
