Sometimes you make a decision in life that will change everything forever. It can be a well thought out plan, or a spontaneous decision that will change your life forever. Neither in my opinion is right nor wrong. It actually depends on the situation; the decision is one that can change fortune in an instant.
Of course if that all works out for the best than it’s a tremendous feeling to know that you made that life changing choice, but what if it all goes wrong? What then?
Basically, there are two options, return from where you departed or stay and try to forge a new existence. The easiest option of course is to go home. Return with your tail between your legs, yet where is the excitement in that?
The path to where we end up in life is never one that we can plot. To quote a movie line “Nothing hits harder than life” and there has never been a more true statement in my opinion.
In times of doubt and uncertainty, I reach those who are no longer here, to remember that the opportunity to explore and ignite the sheer inferno that can light the fuse to our dreams still exists. There maybe many more opportunities once the gloomy cloud lifts, but if we return to the sanctum of our own safety how will we ever know?
This quagmire is indeed a conundrum within my life right now. What was, no longer is. I’m in a place I do not know, a country where the language is still unknown to me in ways. Yes, I could go home, I could return to where everything is familiar.
But as a beautiful friend once told me “Where the fun in life if you don’t know how to live?”
Throw at me what you want life, I am going nowhere. Why? Because I need to learn to live again.
