Time of regret - A poem based on being to busy in Time of regret - A poem based on being to busy in life to remeber who you love most and one day they won't be there Teenage years, my longingWas just to leave my homeTo fall in love with travelMy heart was free to roamThe times I packed my suitcaseI always called you nearTo let you know what I was doingTo show you love and careAfter years of datingI finally found the oneMarriage and children followedAnd youth was swiftly doneMy calls back home grew fewerI was too busy with my lifeLooking after my own familyMy children and my wifeI’m sorry I missed your callI promised I’d call you backBut my busy life took overA moment I can’t retractNow you have left usMy heart is full of regretI lay down flowers on your graveA love I won’t forget#poem #poetry #life #love
Flames of summer - a poem igniting memories of pas Flames of summer - a poem igniting memories of past summer daysSolar embers warm the skinWarmth awakens meRays glisten through the windowDefrosting what will be The darkness it is vanquishedReplaced by flames of loveSkin scorched of dreams to beFrom happiness above An ocean of blue above meMy eyes are lost in tranceOccasional whisp of whitenessLeads my mind to dance Sparkles on the waterHorizon never endsNights that last foreverLoving what life sends Summer lasts so brieflySo let’s make the most of the timeFor abusing it’s earthly beautySurely is a crime Golden beaches underfootThe purest skies so brightAn earthly paradise to enjoyWith all our purest might#summer #poem #writing
Goodnight you legend Goodnight you legend
ow. What news to wake up to. It was only last week ow. What news to wake up to. It was only last week we last spoke. Just looking at your last message, I wish I had answered. We met that summers day in Stockholm with Sandra. I remember offering to carry your bag, I thought you had put weights in their to work out. Of course it was full of Norrlands!. Over the years we talked a lot. Shared memories of our love of 90's movies & music. You sent me that song "Det Regnar I Boden". We never did get to enjoy that beer in the rain or finish that song we wanted to work on. I will finish that for you. I'm not good at writing things like this. But you know me, being a writer and poet I wrote this one for you after I heard the news this morning. I will blast Born Slippy out loud this evening my friend and will raise a glass to you whilst watching Human Traffic this evening. Rest In Paradise Tommy. Until the next one my "bro from another mo". I will miss our conversations and next time I see a rainbow I will think of this poem I wrote for you"A Forever Rainbow" (For Tommy)Souls, they are so fleeting,As they roam across the earth.Directions do not bind us;We fly in the wind from birth.Paths often cross in lifeSome may call it fate,Others say coincidence; To that, I can relate. The first time that our paths crossedWas under a summer sky.We wandered through the city,Watching life go by.Though our time was brief,We built a bond of loveTwo souls who laughed so much in life,Now you’ve soared above.Memories never leave us;They are footprints in the heart. You left one so deep, my friendThat is what set you apart.Fly high in the sky now;You are a rainbow after the rain. Each time I see one,I know you are free from pain.
Love this! Combination of my poem Heart Of Rust wi Love this! Combination of my poem Heart Of Rust with a beach collecting artist Linda Downey, that fuses washed up metal into hearts. This was part of a collection for Gaylord Rehab Hospital in Wallingford CT and then gifted to a patient.Art combines us together in helping all. #poetry #poem #art #heart
