A chilled read this afternoon A chilled read this afternoon
The Road That Leads to nowhere - A poem about real The Road That Leads to nowhere - A poem about realising it that you are una relationship that is going nowhere

For years we played the same parts

In this ever ending game of chess

Both so afraid to make the move

Yearned for more but wanted less

Unwilling to make that crucial step

A leap for humankind

Unlock the keys to life and love

A groundhog day so blind

Sustained attempts to be unique

Yet we always remained so square

The world itself was rushing by

Without the most damn care

Seasons came and went

The snow became the sun

Our feet rooted to the ground

Even the toddlers learned to run

Eventually, the answer came

We drifted far apart

The time it waits for no one

Not even the beating of a heart

I was in Bradford that weekend visiting family. Did not attend the game. Remember being in the centre the next day, just silence. In memory of those who never returned #bradford
