A poem about two sets of friends, who, due to ill A poem about two sets of friends, who, due to ill health have to say goodbye after 40 years of annual meet ups.The day where we all met,'Twas forty years ago,Four strangers from distant landsWe connected from "hello."The following years were routine,From the moment we landed on the plane,The first port of call was to see you both,Through the sunshine and the rain.Years they flew by quickly,Children came into our lives,Even they soon had their own,Becoming husbands and wives.Retirement grew nearer,Yet each year we made the trip;We just walked a little slower,And had pain from toe to hip.Our health began to decline,The trips to see you they took longer,Yet our love for you was ever true,In fact, it could not be stronger. So this trip, we knew, is over,This is the time to say goodbye; You don't remember who we are,Yet the glint stayed in your eye.So as we have one last drink for the road,These forty years grew love,For friendships are unbreakable,Ours was sent from up above.#poem #poetry #farwell #friendsforever❤️
In women's football, I believe the word "Legend" g In women's football, I believe the word "Legend" gets overused. Some certainly deserve that accolade—those who have truly changed the game on and off the pitch. There are way too many to mention. Yet, others get called a legend with half the career of those who paved the way before them.I was flicking through the news today when I read that Linda Sällström will retire at the end of the season. This is obviously not a surprise, as she is ending a 22-year career as the record goalscorer for Finland. Those accolades alone are worthy of the title "legend."Yet, one thing makes her more of a legend than most: overcoming three ACL injuries in a short period at the peak of her career. That is something I doubt we will see often in the game. It's not just the physical aspect; the mental fortitude required alone is something many could not cope with. An ACL injury literally takes you out of competitive physical life for 8-9 months of a year. To have to endure that three times is the stuff of an absolute legend. To come back after that, break national records, and represent and captain your country at the highest level is a testament to just how phenomenal a player Linda is. If she had not been injured with three ACL tears, we would be talking about one of the greatest of all time in my opinion.I will see her one final time against AIK, hopefully.Thank you for all the memories on and off the pitch, and wishing Linda nothing but the best in her career in the medical profession. Who else?! Many congratulations Streamo. 👏👏👏👏 @lindasallstrom

When Seasons Collide - A poem about seasons collid When Seasons Collide - A poem about seasons colliding in life and how we all adapt to each oneThe mornings are getting brighter,As winter draws its last breath. The mist forms off the meadows,Darkness is feeling its death.Longer days are upon us,The temperatures begin to rise.Rainbow clothing adorns the city,A toast to warmer skies.Summer soon approaches,Endless hours of fun.The bright Nordic mornings,Daylight that lasts till it's done. The summer lasts forever,Until the autumn chill. The leaves that form a carpet,It's like time has stood still.Nights are getting longer,The Ice Queen wakes from her bed.Blasts a breath of winter,A frozen land of dread. So I sit here in the warmth,Glowing by a fire,Longing for spring to start again,For the darkness I soon grow tired.#seasons #poem #poetry #emotions
