Sky Sports presenters taken off air after sexist comments

This recording was captured by The Daily mail and contains
an off the air recording by two Sky Sports presenters. Host Richard Keys and
lead pundit Andy Gray were discussing the involvement of a female official
during the weekend Premiership football fixture between Wolves and Liverpool.

Sky Sports has since apologised for the pairs comments and
have dropped them from tonight’s Chelsea vs Bolton fixture.

The FA had given full support to official Sian Massey who
made a spot on decision during the match.

Before the match Keys said “somebody better get down
there and explain offside to her” and Mr Gray remarked “women don’t
know the offside rule”.

Mr Keys then said “of course they don’t”, before
adding: “I can guarantee you there’ll be a big one today. [Liverpool
manager] Kenny [Dalglish] will go potty.”

He also made further comments regarding West Ham vice
Chairman Karen Brady.

Football is a global sport enjoyed by all races and is for
both sexes. Whilst female football has grown immensely in the past decade there
is a growing surge of involvement in the men’s professional game with
officials, trainers and even managers involved.

It’s sad to see that in this day and age there are still
unprofessional and sexist comments being made by the two leading presenters on
the UK’s biggest football show. In the past several pundits have been dismissed
for making racial comments about ethnic players, tell me what the difference is
here?

Keys and Gray should be dismissed.
