Separate ways to go – Poem

Separate ways to go – Poem

The same old routine sunset
Goes down on another day
Just the same old piece of driftwood
Saved from salt decay

Those days that seemed to golden
Were cold, dark and grey
What seemed like purest sunshine
Would never shine this day

A claustrophobic feeling
That you felt was love
The chains needed to be broken
So I could rise above

Season follows season
They all remained the same
Some were born to drift in life
Others blaze in flame

There is no right or wrong here
Just two different ways to be
Images that remain so constant
Where mine change constantly

So it’s time for you to go left
Where I will now turn right
Behind the path we once walked
Only memories remain so bright
