”A moment lost in darkness where the only sound heard was the resounding echo of my heartbeat. The glistening reflection from the dripping water shining as brightly as a blinding sun. What was it you said to me? I was destined to be born into darkness.
Darkness was not my world, merely a self-imprisoned realm. The sanctuary where time stood still, where my morality was the clock I measured time by, no sun, no shining moon. Just the glistening of a memory.
Empathy drained from my veins, your perception of my own self-imprisonment simply turned into my place of escape. Within the sanctum of insanity, there is born a phoenix to rise. In hope is born a hero. Yet nothing was set in stone for me to aspire to become this. Just the mere thought of survival.
Shadows formed friendships; hallucinations became truth, all instinctive within the untold boundaries of the mind. Desire was the flame that pyre that turned to ash. Embers. Nothing more than a glowing memory of what once was. Hot enough to burn, cold enough to scorn.
The end of darkness starts with the finding of light. The cumulative foundations of a new tomorrow.
We rise.
