Reflections Of Tomorrow - A poem about people thinking they know you yet the only person who knows you is the one you see in the mirror. Regardless of who they are

I look into the mirror
Reflection staring back at me
Everything that is so familiar
Is exactly what I do not see

Photos that adorn a wall
Just a glisten of a place in time
Escape is the only option I have
I am not responsible for this crime

Eyes that follow me up and down
They put a gaze upon my face
But all I wanted in the end
Was to be the one who finished the race

You think you understand me?
A name that you cannot even say
Is that the way it is? Well, maybe.
You don't know me today

The only one who knows me
Is the only one who sees
The eyes that hold my heartbeat
Now for you, upon the keys

So take these memories we shared
And put them in the past
My direction is a futuristic one
In which you will not last

Dark Day Of Fate - A poem about someone close taking their own life but you wonder could you have done anything more for them. Happened to me a few times in life.

The day that you left us
There was nothing we could do.
Pain we were not aware of,
Our love could not pull you through.

Questions I have asked over the years,
I don't have an answer for.
The times we should have shared,
Are gone forevermore.

Suicide, it's painful,
Even though you are free.
The hurt remains forevermore,
A dark eternity.

Could I have done something more?
Maybe just a little more?
Would my voice have pulled you through,
Instead of lifeless on the floor?

All that's left are memories,
Moments frozen within time.
Sometimes I think it's selfish,
But then I know it's not a crime.

For suicide is painful,
We carry it every day.
Our pain remains forever,
Though yours has gone away.
