Memories Of You (Poem)

Memories Of You (Poem)

Faces in the window
A snapshot caught in time
One by one they are leaving us
Death is not a crime

Memories held so dear
Of people who have passed
As long as the heart beats within
The moments they will last

Smiles within a moment
Frozen in a point of view
We talk about that memory
It’s part of me and you

In time people will ask
Just who are these faces
Unaware that we paved the way
In those familiar places

A name upon a gravestone
Dates of birth and death
Yet voices whisper in the wind
With lifes eternal breath

My heart beats in existence
That much is still true
For now I hold the memory
Of just me and you
