Life’s Eternal Surf

Life’s Eternal Surf

Falling through the familiar
A pattern is known no more
Freefalling from what you know
Thumping to the floor

Eyes caught in the headlights
The shadow casts such fear
What I knew exists no more
A new world will appear

Broken by betrayal
Could not see through the lie
Trust became so broken
Cannot look life in the eye

Hibernation beckons
Will curl up in a ball
Evolve into what will be
Will I once again stand tall

The future grabs my hands
Pulls me into now
I grow stronger from what I’ve seen
Can I becomes how

The strength grows through failure
From this, I cannot hide
I am the eternal surfer
Upon turbulent life tide
