A gaze beyond the sunrise
Too see if you are there
To look beyond the rainclouds
For your loving stare
Too many questions left unanswered
Of why you left so soon
You’re the warmth of the sun
The light of the moon
All the things I never told you
Yet I feel every day
How wish I could whisper
Since you went away
Another year I grow older
The past begins to fade
Just a gentle reminder
I can no longer hide
Generations leave us
Become a whisper in time
Yet whilst I am breathing
Your name it will chime
Regrets there are too many
Yet they can’t change anything
So here is to living
And what the future will bring
may I use your poem in our Survivors of Suicide newsletter?
Absolutely!
