  1. Public information is shared in a similar manner in Norway as well. It’s part of the socialist culture. Privacy could mean you are hiding something, and personal details are provided by that state. The ideology of equality and fairness are key components of socialism, therefore hiding personal information doesn’t exactly jive. Not only does it provide the “Skatt” or taxes you paid in, but your annual salary, comparing it to previous years and where you rank in your community- by both income and age. I have a very hard time relating to this as well, as Americans are notoriously private. However, knowing it’s part of the culture, I would imagine it’s only one small detail that is different.
