Home Lies In The Past - Poem about leaving home, family and moving on in life

We leave behind familiar land

Everything we know

Onward onto unknown road

Forward we will go

Under endless summer sky

Refreshing breeze so pure

Tempted by our destination

An ever-addictive lure

A heart dances like a flame

In the fire of excitement

Mind free of emotional stress

The traveller enlightens

Sunshine wakes me from a sleep

How far have we traveled?

Unfamiliar sights and sounds

My mind slowly unraveled

Twilight guided us as we slept

The moons eternal glow

Now the sun our guiding light

It tells us where to go

Silence all around us

Not one uttered sound

Taking in the scenic views

Destination bound

The land it quickly changes

To silhouette form

Awash with feelings so unknown

A true break from the norm

The clouds they now open

Rain washes smiles away

The fear of never seeing home

They seem here to stay

Through sheer determination

We will make it through

The voyagers committed cause

Binds us all like glue

A spectrum of survival

Blazes up the sky

Laughter fills the air once more

One triumphant sky

Over hill and round the bend

The journey almost done

Final moments traveled slow

We drive into the sun

Our eyes washed with emotional

Our hearts they beat so fast

Together my friend the road is done

Everything is well known
I don’t have to know your thoughts
For I could see it in your actions
And everything they brought

You thought I did not know you
Or what was going on
Yet I could read you like a lyric
And see you like a song

For I saw straight through you
The knives that were in my back
Pierced a heart free from emotions
No room for you to attack

With every move you made
I was two simple steps ahead
You’re simply playing catch-up
With the devil in your head

So sit there in your silence
Realize what is done
Your future is so unbalanced
While I bask in the sun

Cyclone of Regret (Poem) - A poem about regret in $Cyclone of Regret (Poem) - A poem about regret in love and hoping someone finds love again Eyes that love me dearly In a world where two exist, Where hands entwined together, Lips delicately kissed. Two hearts in an ocean, Sweeping to an unknown sea, A love forged by fate, On a ship called destiny. Now, it is all so broken, I am sorry for the pain, Dark clouds that I gave to you, My cyclone brought the rain. Tears, they cry a river, A waterfall streams down your cheek, Forgive me for my darkness, It’s absolution that I seek. A fractured heart can be mended, If you let me take the blame, The world is to discover, Release your inner flame. Your past, I know, has crumbled, The fault lies with me, It only makes you stronger, In this, I hope you see. Apologies are not enough, My words cut like a knife, Your best days are approaching, A new path into life. I know you can’t forgive me, Just one thing I regret: Is the distress I brought to you, I ask you to forget. Voices That Last - A Poem written about hearing voices from people of the past coming to you when you dream. When you need to hear those exact words.

Last night I saw some faces

That I thought I'd never see again.

Their faces hadn't changed,

But mine has, since then.

I know that I was dreaming,

But I won't forget what was said

Almost advice that I had needed,

Even though they are all dead.

When I am searching for the answers,

You come to me at night,

Whisper the words I need to hear: "

I have the will to fight."

You may have left this earth;

I watched you age and die.

Yet you still reach out when I need you

And whisper, "Live, don't cry."

The memories, they fade with years;

Photos are just a capture in space.

The younger generations won't ever know

The lines of laughter on your face.

I grow into the generation

Where time is rushing past,

But you are with me in my dreams at night,

Allowing me to live on and still last.
