Entwined In Dreams (Poem)

Entwined In Dreams (Poem)

With eyes wide shut the darkness falls
Mind wanders through historic halls
Echoes of a long lost past
Forgotten faces once more amassed

Dreaming of people who once were here
Entwined with those who are near
A mixture of the old and new
Connected by my dreams so true

Hands touch faces of those long gone
A warmth in sleepiness, forgotten song
Mixtures of people who touched my soul
A slumbering scenario with no control

Night turns to dawn and the eyes do flutter
Voices clear now turn to a mutter
Birds shrill awakening me from the depths of sleep
I write down the dream that I shall keep

The mind is a treasure chest full of dreams
Where answers lie in life’s endless reams
Don’t look for answers that are hard to find
For they possibly lie within the mind
