The Most Beautiful Selfie of all. A poem about how The Most Beautiful Selfie of all. A poem about how the world is sometimes more than our obsession with social media.

In this world of the "in the moment,"
A billion likes cannot say
Just how a heart is beating
In its purest loving way.

280 characters are not enough
When the mind composes a letter.
No smiling face or crying emojis
Will make the darkness better.

Life faces forward,
Yet we look back, not ahead.
Our eyes, the perfect cameras,
To a world where love can spread.

Affection is not measured by a status;
Love is just created.
It is worn on the heart within,
Not always complicated.

Memories are locked in the mind,
A vault that's full of glory,
Forever able to be felt,
Not a disappearing story.

Life is what we make it,
A vast world to be seen,
An Earth of exploration
Beyond a fading screen.

Wake up from social shackles,
Walk the road ahead.
The one most beautiful selfie in the world
Is the path you have yet to tread.

Sad to hear my old friend James passed late 2024. Sad to hear my old friend James passed late 2024. Hadn't spoke in a while but always recall our talk of football, Striker and wrestling days. Poems for you mate. See you on the other one

A comic that we grew up with
Became a beacon that we shared
Passed on each generation
Back then when we all cared

A hollow empty soul
Yet was full of hope and love
Times when we would laugh
And now you're up above

We used to get knocked down
As the song would say
Each time that we got up again
We lived another day

Through time we lost connection
Two souls drifting through life
I wished we had one final laugh
Talk about the pain and the strife

Now you have departed
Joining family in the sky
No longer alone in your daily life
The childhood dream is home

For with every squared circle
That we watched through all the years
Ring that final bell James my friend
For there are finally no more tears

After being diagnosed with chronic insomnia at 17, After being diagnosed with chronic insomnia at 17, it's rare I sleep more than two or three hours a night. This week though? Full of dreams, for the first time. Random flights to Gothenburg, singing with Elvis, being strangled by headphones, washing up dishes in my grandmother’s house, and being chased through the woods with a suitcase full of chocolate. Analyze that one, Freud.

A Life Alone - Poem about losing a partner and rea A Life Alone - Poem about losing a partner and realinsing all this time time is never trivial

The days we spent together
We walked through thick and thin
Sometimes it felt so trivial
A journey from within

You'd shout I took too long
To get ready for the day
Now it's just an echo
Of a soul that's passed away

I used to call you fussy
As you tidied up the room
Now it's just so empty
A solitary gloom

The little things we used to do
Like fold the clothes we dried
Put away the cutlery
It's empty since you died

Life once had a meaning
We thought we were so clever
But now I've come to realize
Nothing lasts forever

Each day is really a struggle
I get by with help from friends
But the only one has gone away
A broken heart that never mends
