Melodifestivalan 2012. I remember the first time I heard Loreen sing Euphoria I said to my friend that not only would it win Melodifestivalan but it would also storm the Eurovision. Four months later my prediction came true when Loreen won.
Fast forward a year and Sweden are now putting the final touches to the Eurovision preparation. Melodifestivalan still continues, but I think that this year there has been more emphasis on the Eurovision and not enough on who will represent Sweden.
After three, heats, we have one heat left, so far the only song that many think worthy to win is by State of Drama. They won heat 3 on Saturday, and the closest competition to them seems to come from Sean Banan. Next weeks final heat means that so far going through to the grand final we have a man who is named after a Banana, a song about dead fish and four men who look like they could form a John Goodman tribute band.
This is a chance for a Swedish artist to represent Sweden on the grandest stage of them all but the songs this year have been poor, to say the least. Even the presenters have sung better.
So can the winner possibly come from any of these from the final heat this weekend?
