As Long As You Are There (Poem)

As Long As You Are There (Poem)

From the first time that I saw you

My eyes were purely blessed

From the way you smiled on sunny days

To the way that you were dressed

Seems so long ago now

We age and change with time

But if love is the charge

I’m guilty of My heart is not the crime

We dance eternal dreams

Waltz away the night

Our faces grow more lines with time

But that’s life’s pure delight

For we won the race we ran

It did not take forever

The finish line may have taken time

A prize of love forever

As two hands are held in silence

Sometimes life may seem unfair

But love will conquer all our fears

Just as long as you are there
