A silent dark deception
Embedded in the past
Deep within my consciousness
A pain so ever last
Destroys what is so dear to me
Slaps love in the face
Carves the words into my heart
“Life’s one true disgrace”
Yet there comes a day
When karma meets the pain
Sunshine fights a torrent
A rainbow to maintain
I yearn to remember
How it used to be
When everything seemed to make sense
The perfect little me
