There is something about the 1st of April that is unique to me. Not in that it is a time for playing pranks on people (does anybody, but children actually fall for these anymore?), but a period of change.
To some spring starts on March 1st, but to me April is where the year actually comes to life. Especially here in Sweden, the winters are long, dark and exceptionally cold.
So when the clocks go forward, just that fraction of one hour, it allows the world to look brighter. The days are longer, and the world just seems like a healthier and happier place.
Each April 1st I always make changes in my life. Out with the old and in with the new. Literally defines the meaning of the words “spring cleaning”. I never look back once these changes are made. If we cling to the past too much, then we ignore the future and do not think about the past.
April 1st, the day of fools, but in my world it’s the day the wise break free.
